In today’s emerging world of technology, where no one is left untouched from the impact computer and internet, from ordinary daily chats to business deals, everything and everyone are dependent on the internet, isn’t there a need for security?


Because “Every coin has two sides” and the dark side of this technical growth are the cyber attacks!!

You will be shocked to know that, more malware is being launched every day than ever before: 230,000 new malware samples/day according to the latest statistics and the estimated annual cost for the cyber crime committed globally which has added up to 100 billion dollars!


Other than this, in February, Australian cyber security company Nuix put out a report where they surveyed about 70 professional hackers and penetration testers at last year’s  Defcon — the global hacking and security conference — to understand their perspective on cyber security.


In the report, about 88 percent of the respondents said they could break through cyber security defenses and into the systems they target within 12 hours, while another 81 percent said they could identify and take valuable data within the same time frame even when the breach may not be detected for nearly 100 days on average.


And I guess those are enough numbers to explain that cyber attacks are harming the world economy at a much higher scale than we thought and it cannot be easily controlled because as long as you’re connected to the Internet, you can become a victim of cyber attacks.


Now as we all are well aware of the cyber crime and that there is a need of something that can give us the full security. Something has arrived to save our computers from Cyber criminals, and that is ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.


A U.K.-based firm “Darktrace”, uses machine learning capabilities — advanced algorithms that can adapt and learn — and probabilistic mathematics to learn the normal ‘pattern of life’ for every user and device in a network and detect anomalies. Their technology is modeled after how a human immune system identifies and responds to foreign threats — swiftly and without compromising the human body’s key functions.


The idea of protection from cyber attacks comes from the fact that “Just like humans have the immune system, and just like humans have survived for millions of years, it is because of our immune system. Almost every day, we’re hit by unknown unknowns, which is the way organizations are also hit … in terms of viruses and malware.”


And now the British cyber security startup uses machine learning to hunt for odd behavior on corporate systems, meaning its Enterprise Immune System can spot zero-days and other hard to find attacks.


The question is how Antegina works?

Once a threat is identified, Antigena automatically responds by taking proportionate actions to neutralize it and buy security teams enough time to catch up. According to me, Antigena is a great idea and huge step taken in the cyber world for protection which is very much needed at this time of technological bloom!
